As you may know, we have started a new chapter with the formation of a non-denominational Strength for Service governing board, and we are looking forward to increased opportunities to minister to first responders along with members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

TODAY, “Giving Tuesday,” you have an opportunity to double your gift to Strength for Service.

For the second year, the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries will match dollar-for-dollar, up to $1 million in gifts made online through The Advance to provide daily devotional books to members of the military and first responders. As a warning, only the first $1 million in gifts to Advance projects will be doubled. Contributions above that amount will not be doubled. Last year, more than $6 million was received on “Giving Tuesday,” and only the first $1 million was matched.

A maximum of $2,500 per individual gift will be matched, and each project is limited to $25,000 in matching funds.
