The Fellas of Richland Hills UMC, our United Methodist Men’s unit, made a two-day presentation of 27 Strength for Service Devotionals to the entire staff of the Richland Hills, Texas Police Department. The presentation took two days in order to personally meet and make the presentation to as many of the sworn officers and civilian support employees of the department as was possible over shift changes. It provided our men’s group an opportunity to let Police Chief Barbara Childress and her officers of our appreciation for their service to many of the members of our congregation who live in Richland Hills. It also provide us with an opportunity to learn of issues and ways in which our church could work with the City of Richland Hills in addressing needs. The Fellas’ President, Jack Teddlie, organized this event to observe National Police Week which was May 11 through 17.
